If you’ve ever seen the bright yellow walls or the black and white striped storefront, then you’ve seen Melt Ice Creams. Located on Magnolia Avenue, the bright and near impossible to miss ice cream shop recently celebrated its third birthday April 19.
Owner and founder Kari Seher wanted to celebrate Melt’s birthday in a big way. The special day started out with its own ice cream birthday flavor, which was a yellow cake crumbled into vanilla ice cream with swirls of cream cheese icing and sprinkles. There was also a wide variety of giveaways on social media including; free ice cream, a Melt t-shirt, a Fort Worth Locals mug, a hand made Melt clutch, limited edition shirts and more.
The ice cream shop originally opened on Rosedale in 2014, but quickly outgrew the location and needed to expand. Seher found an opportunity to relocate to a bigger space along Magnolia Avenue and, in July 2016, moved Melt to its current location. The store tripled in size and gained a large patio area where kids are able to openly run around and play.
Melt has cemented itself as part of the Fort Worth community in its initiative to serve different local non-profit organizations each year. This year it’s partnered up with The Net, donating five percent of all vanilla ice cream profits to the organization.
Seher has no concrete future plans for Melt but hopes to continue creating happy experiences for its customers.
“We are focused on building a really great foundation so we want to build better experiences for our customers, but we definitely see a future in expansion,” Seher said. “We want to reach as many people as we can and have the world experience our ice cream whenever and wherever possible, but we don’t have concrete plans on moving or growing just yet.”
